Data Transmission Modes
Introduction:
Data transmission modes are the pathways through which data is sent and received between devices in a network.
Understanding these modes is essential for efficient and error-free communication.
1. Simplex Mode:
Imagine a one-way street for data.
In simplex mode, data flows in only one direction, from sender to receiver.
Commonly used for devices like TV remote controls.
Examples:- Keyboard, Television, Mouse, Monitor.
2. Half-Duplex Mode:
Picture a walkie-talkie conversation.
Half-duplex mode allows data transmission in both directions but not simultaneously.
Devices take turns sending and receiving data.
Examples:- Walkie-Talkie.
3. Full-Duplex Mode:
Visualize a two-lane highway.
Full-duplex mode permits simultaneous two-way communication.
Examples:- Telephone calls
Real-time applications like video conferencing and online gaming.
